Growth Arrest of Lower Femur

This 16-year-old boy suffered injury to a growth plate in the lower femur, which led to a bowleg deformity. The lines show the apex of the deformity for planning the correction (left image).

After a focal dome osteotomy and internal fixation with a rod, the femur was corrected. The technique for this procedure, called fixator-assisted nailing, was developed by ICLL physicians (right image).
